One-day workshop on the topic

“A REVIEW OF BENGALI LITERATURE IN THE MIDDLE AGES”

Organised on 1st March, 2021

 

Keeping in mind the new education policy, any educational institution must initiate knowledge-based programme for the students of pass & honours courses. With this part, a one-day workshop has been held on the topic “A REVIEW OF BENGALI LITERATURE IN THE MIDDLE AGES” on 1st March 2021 organised by the department of Bengali, Radhamadhab College. The said programme was arranged for the benefit of the students as the analysis of middle ages of Bengali literature is an essential part for Higher Secondary and degree both pass & honours courses in Bengali subject.

The invited speakers of this event were:

1.Dr.Rama Purkayastha, Retd. Head, department of Bengali, Cachar College, Silchar

2.Dr.Bubul Sarma, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali, Assam University, Silchar

The programme was conducted with the strong cooperation & presence of Hon’ble Principal, Dr.Debashish Roy. IQAC coordinator Dr.Sonali Choudhury (Biswas) explained its importance in her lecture. The head of the department Dr.Rahul Chakrabarty took a introductory speech about its purpose & role.

Both invited speakers explained elaborately the history of middle ages of Bengali literature as well as encouraged the students by mentioning its connection with the present time.

The total of about 70 students participated in this workshop. Many of them asked some questions to the speakers regarding the topics. The pass students and honours students admitted that, they got benefitted with this programme. For the mark of students’ interest, the department of Bengali enrolled their name issuing online certificate of participation to them.

The whole programme was hosted by Dr.Surjyasen Deb, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali. The vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Kalipada Das, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali. Dr.Sumita Bose, teacher of the department has handled the task of documentation in a responsible manner.
